A Gentleman's Classic Vintage Wristwatch C.1945 in 18ct. "Rose" Gold, with the most beautiful "Teardrop" lugs.

The Case numbered # 161609 and with French control marks for 18ct. Gold,

Case size; (41mm x 31mm).

High Grade Jeweled Swiss Lever movement.

The original Pink Gilt dial with subsidiary seconds dial, raised Rose Gold Roman Numerals, raised dots and batons,... Signed "Vilac EB Swiss Antimagnetic", Pink Original Gold classic baton hands.

The condition of this wonderful 1940s Vintage Timepiece is totally original and quite superb.

The beautiful rich Red of the 18ct. "Rose" Gold used for this watch case is truly stunning, very popular at the time and now sixty years later, presenting a fabulous classic example of this vintage period.

There were many fine wristwatches produced to the highest standards and of the most beautiful designs, by generic Swiss and French watch manufacturers during the 1940s and 1950s vintage period.

Many of the brand names are today completely unknown, lost in the numerous mergers and company acquisitions at the time. However, many were quite superb and of a classic form and of a quality of construction to be expected of Switzerland's consummate watch-making tradition, all this together with the elegance of French case-makers.

These unknown classic vintage watches were in many cases similar in quality and construction to the most famous of the French and Swiss brand names, with their magnificent movements beautifully finished and outstanding watch-cases superbly constructed.

This particular vintage 1940s timepiece is a superb example of such a watch, made as it is, to the highest standards. The case has lovely "Teardrop" lugs a design feature most fashionable during this late Deco period and most sought after today by many collectors.
