An exquisite and most rare pair of early 20th century Platinum and diamond lorgnettes by Tiffany & Co., circa 1900.

The tapered handle with teardrop final, millegrain set with the old style of brilliant cut diamonds commensurate with this early period and of a quite magnificent and fine quality one would expect of this famous and legendary Jeweller. The bridge signed "Tiffany & Co" and stamped for Platinum, 7.8cm long.

Every aspect of these stunning lorgnettes is of the very highest quality, the metal used is Platinum, the strongest and most durable of the precious metals, the Diamonds are of the very highest grade, they would have been selected by Tiffany's Diamond buyers for their whiteness and clarity, brilliant cut by the best Diamond cutters of the day to the optimum proportions, to maximize their fire and scintillation.

The setting is beautifully worked, most meticulous and precise, exactly as expected from the Tiffany & Co. workshops.

In superb condition throughout, currently fitted with new medium power reading lenses, however prescription lenses may be fitted if required.

Suspended on a chain, ( available separately if required ) which will thread through a dedicated opening either side of the teardrop final, these elegant and most practical lorgnettes are truly stunning.
