A rare Sterling Silver Pocket Watch Stand of architectural form. C.1860 with beautifully engraved and chased panels.

The Hallmarks rubbed and with Victorian Registration # 396812.

Such watchstands were used during this period to hold a pocket watch by ones bedside or desk.

The watch easily put in place through an aperture in the rear of the stand, a hinged opening rear flap holding the watch in place by a turn-plate.

This handsome watch stand is being sold empty, without a watch, as many collectors wish to only purchase the stand, however, I have found a classic, Antique 800 standard Silver Antique key wound Swiss pocket watch, retailed by "Kendal & Dent" that fits perfectly and is in excellent working condition.
