A Vintage Rolex Oyster

in Chromed Steel C.1936.

A Gentleman's vintage Rolex Cushion Oyster, waterproof manual wind wristwatch.C.1936.

The chromed Steel Oyster classic cushion shaped Case, with Rolex serial numbering for the year 1936.The case in superb and original condition, signed RWC Ltd ( the Rolex Watch Company Ltd., ) and Oyster Watch Co. Ltd, numbered 95446F, model ref # 2136. Also struck with UK and International patents.

This wonderful vintage timepiece has the advantage of not only retaining its original internal dust cover but also its original dial, hands and Oyster winding button.

The high grade Lever movement in quite pristine condition, running beautifully, signed "Rolex. 17 Rubies Swiss Made Fab Suisse Patented super balance".

The dial in superb original condition with an attractive, even age patination. Raised luminous numerals and original blued steel luminous hands.

The dial signed "Rolex Oyster" with sunken subsidiary seconds dial, double minute and seconds tracks.

It is now very rare to find these handsome early Rolex Oysters with the original internal dust cover.

Over the past seventy years many watchmakers servicing these now rare timepieces considered the dust cover a superfluous feature due to the fact that the Oyster case was hermetically sealed and impervious to moisture and dust, as a result, it appears these dust covers were often discarded.

Here we can see the original dust cover together with the internal nomenclature struck on the case back.

The beautiful Rolex movement too is in excellent and original condition.

Retaining its original screw-down waterproof "Oyster" winding button, signed "Rolex Oyster", this vintage timepiece is a truly magnificent and rare example of the classic vintage cushion shaped Oyster of the 1930s.

The screw on Oyster case back with crisp and intact milled edge, together with the deeply impressed Rolex model reference and serial numbers.

A most beautiful vintage wristwatch in superb and original condition.
