A rare classic Art Deco,

Vintage Rolex Wristwatch.

C.1937.

A most handsome and very rare, vintage Rolex Gentleman's manual wind Wristwatch in 9ct. Gold, C.1937. Rolex model reference number: 3141, a model seldom seen.

The plain rectangular case in excellent condition, and of larger than normal size, 37mm x 22mm,with canted bezel and lugs, in a distinctly Art Deco design, typical of the 1930s. The case signed; "Rolex 27 Worlds Records Geneva Suisse" and with British Import Hallmarks for the year 1937.

The beautiful silvered dial signed "Rolex Swiss Made" with Art Deco style numerals and very large sunken subsidiary dial.

The size of the subsidiary dial is, like the watch dimensions, of larger than normal size. The classic blued steel baton hands, typical of the minimalistic Deco period design.

The high grade, Swiss Jeweled Lever movement in superb condition, signed; "Rolex 15 Rubies Swiss Made".

Vintage Watches with such large faces and subsidiary seconds dials were often referred to as "Doctors Watches" and have long been associated with the medical profession. With the aid of the much larger subsidiary seconds dial, observing the elapsing seconds whilst taking a pulse was far easier.

A vintage timepiece that must have been treasured and kept with care, as although over seventy yeas old, the condition of the case is quite superb, with the original Rolex logo and nomenclature still crisp and sharply visible.

A very rare and most handsome Vintage Rolex model from a truly golden period of wristwatch design, in excellent condition.
