A fine and rare example of a Vintage Rolex Oyster classic, the famous "Bubbleback" Oyster.
A "Perpetual" automatic, self winding Waterproof Chronometer Wristwatch with sweep centre seconds.
The Art Deco Steel Case signed Rolex and numbered 528088, corresponding to the year 1948, with Mod ref; 2940. The original winding button signed; Rolex Oyster.
The high grade movement signed; "Rolex Perpetual Chronometer Swiss Made Patented Trigger Screw Vis Tirette", with Chronometer number; N41713.
The dial surface expertly and finely restored to exactly the original.
A most handsome timepiece, a truly classic example of the finest Vintage Swiss craftsmanship, Art Deco style and engineering.
This superb Vintage timepiece embodies the three main features that established Rolex as the worlds leaders in rugged sports wristwatches.
Remaining in superb and crisp condition this is indeed a lovely example of this highly sought after Vintage Rolex.
The milled Oyster case back, deeply curved to accommodate the self winding rotor. Within the next two decades advancing technology would gradually slim down the dimensions of the Oyster case.
The original Rolex Oyster winding button can be seen signed "Rolex Oyster". At this point in time the Rolex crown logo was not used on the winding button.
