A fine Royal presentation, 18ct. Gold Pocket Watch,

A beautifully slim and most elegant early 19th Century Pocket Watch, presented as a gift by Frederick William IV, King of Prussia.

This wonderful French made, open face timepiece,in a classic engine turned, 18ct. Gold case, with a milled edge case band.

 

 

 

The key wind gilt Lepine calibre movement in excellent condition. Plain cock with Blued steel regulator. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel hairspring. Steel escape wheel. Engine Turned Silvered dial with Roman numerals. Fine Gold Moon  hands.  Wound and set with a key through the engraved gold cuvette.

The inside of the case back beautifully engraved with a Royal presentation inscription:-

Presented by The King of Prussia to W.Cullen Jan 1842.

 

Frederick William IV, King of Prussia.

 

The gold cuvette, again beautifully engraved indicating a cylinder escapement and eight jewels, retailed by a Berlin watchmaker "Ravene", by appointment to the King.

 

 

The condition of this handsome antique timepiece is original and excellent.
