A gentleman's most elegant and handsome wristwatch, in 18ct. Yellow gold, of the very highest grade and quality, by Patek Philippe. Model reference # 2429. C.1951.

This particular vintage model, is very rare and most distinctive, having stepped lugs emanating from a beautifully shaped broad bezel. This wonderful case design, first seen in 1948 and only produced for approximately five years, possess an appealing late Art-Deco style and classic vintage appearance.

The beautiful silvered dial with subsidiary seconds is in superb original condition, with raised gold dagger and double bullet indexes. The original Gold Dauphine hands combine with the other elegant Deco design features to create a truly magnificent and stylish timepiece of outstanding quality, as only Patek Philippe can produce.

The outstanding calibre 10-200 lever movement with bi-metalic compensation balance, micrometer regulator, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions is in superb and original condition.

Attention to the smallest detail, quality of materials and construction was always without compromise, no other watch manufacturer lavished and indeed still lavishes so much time and care on their movements. In fact this ethos applies to every aspect of the construction and manufacture of their beautiful timepieces.

Such an extreme and dedicated philosophy results in the production of true Horological works of art. It is not without reason that Patek Philippe are considered by collectors and experts worldwide, to have produced the finest watches available, and indeed still do.

Rare classic Vintage models such as the # 2429 embody the Patek Philippe ethos of quality without compromise, excellence and beauty, with the added advantage of being from a past age, an age using a different production technology, imparting a look and feel unobtainable with modern timepieces.

This wonderful timepiece comes with an extract from the Patek Philippe archives, confirming production in 1951, with the watch being sold on September 25th of that year.

Apart from most interestingly confirming the date of manufacture and sale, this extract from the Archives of Patek Philippe, most importantly confirms that the movement is the original and correct for its case. With the movement and case numbering matching exactly the records held by Patek Philippe.
