The original dial signed : "Patek Philippe Genève" and "Beyer Zurich" one of the most prestigious and famous Swiss Retailers.
It was not uncommon for many a top grade Jeweller to place their name on watch dials during this period. The now famous and familiar Swiss watch brands were relatively unknown to the general public at the beginning of the last century, with customers relying on the expertise, good name and reputation of their most trusted Jeweller as a guide to quality and reliability. This practice continued right up until the 1960s, where on some high grade vintage wristwatches there could still be seen the names of well established top retailers along with the famous and internationally well known Swiss brand names, in this particular instance the retailer being "Beyer of Zurich".
The firm of Beyer was founded in 1760, and since then it has been passed down through the generations from father to son, each one a fully-trained watchmaker. As the first shop in Switzerland to specialise exclusively in clocks, watches and jewellery, Beyer can draw on a wealth of experience and deep-founded expertise when advising clients. The firm is currently managed by René Beyer, who represents the seventh generation of the Beyer family. Its portfolio comprises 16 premier watch brands, antique clocks and exclusive jewellery. As it has its own watchmaker’s and goldsmith’s workshop, Beyer is also in a position to provide its customers with first-class after-sales service. Furthermore, the basement houses an impressive museum, where visitors can admire some 500 exhibits dating from 1400 BC to the present day.

Apart from most interestingly confirming the date of manufacture and sale, this extract from the Archives of Patek Philippe, most importantly corroborates that the movement is the original and correct for its case. With the movement and case numbering matching exactly the records held by Patek Philippe.
