A fine and rare pair of French, gilt metal and enameled Antique Opera Glasses C.1890, the barrels Jeweled & embellished with Swags and Florets of opaque enamel with translucent enamel over engine turning.

The eye pieces and focusing knob of Mother of Pearl. These magnificent Opera Glasses are contained within their original leather and silk lined case.Very well cared for and obviously treasured.

These Opera Glasses are in excellent condition with only very slight crazing to the enamel visible only under magnification.

The superb enameling with fine gold "jewelling" around the translucent panels. The the floral swags beautifully painted on a powder blue translucent ground over engine turning.

Working perfectly, a most beautiful and practical Antique gift for the collector of fine antique enamel or indeed an avid theater buff.
