A rare and quite exquisite vintage Omega, early self winding wristwatch, with sweep centre seconds, in 18ct. Gold, C.1947.
The beautiful case with classic down turned lugs and snap-on case back.
The handsome "two tone" domed dial, signed "Omega Automatic Swiss Made", expertly and sympathetically restored to the original design and finish.
Gold Dagger indexes with Gold Arabic numerals. Gold "Leaf" shaped hands with blued steel centre seconds hand.
The famous " Bumper Automatic" high grade calibre 28.10RA SC. in excellent condition. A ground breaking vintage early self winding movement, using a pendulum rather than a rotor. A beautiful movement known for its accuracy and reliability.
This wonderful Omega is a perfect example of the unique "Look and feel" that 1940s Swiss watch making technology imparted to wristwatches of such a glorious vintage period.
A more mellow and elegant "Look and feel" now lost, unobtainable using current modern manufacturing processes.
