A very rare and excellent example of the work of the famous and high quality Victorian manufacturer Sampson Mordan & Co.

A combined Silver Gilt Perfume Bottle and Smelling Salts Bottle in the form of a beautifully decorated pair of enameled Opera Glasses. The bottom of each bottle set with a round mirror. The neck of the Smelling Salts Bottle signed "S.Mordan Makers". The same bottle printed with a Victorian Registration mark for March 1879.

The magnificent enameling, combining gilding and raised Jewelling has been carried out to the highest standards as one would expect with such a high quality manufacturer.

There is some distressing of the Silver Gilt bottle tops but this does not detract from the beauty of this delightful piece.

The Perfume Bottle has the typical Victorian sprung stopper with internal sprung glass plate.
Although very small indeed, the Victorian Registration marks show that this piece was registered in March 1879
