Vickery & Co., located in Regents Street London, were high class Jewellery retailers in the late Victorian period. They were suppliers to the British Royal family and other crowned heads of Europe. Records show that by Royal warrants of appointment Vickery & Co. supplied the following aristocracy:-
|
Produced as a portable item, suitable for traveling, with the superbly made leather case affording more than adequate protection to the delightful miniature within, sitting perfectly in the bottle green velvet. The support strut folding out to enable the painting to be displayed.
With the British Empire at its height, members of the military and the diplomatic corps would regularly travel to the furthest corners of the British Empire in the service of their country. However exotic, hot and dusty, snowy or windswept his or her surroundings became, this delightful and charming miniature would remind the traveler of home.

The painting magnified several times, illustrating the beauty and excellence of this wonderful work of art. Although of very high quality, the painting appears to be unsigned. However, as this exceptional item was retailed by J.C. VICKERY, renowned for purveying only items of the highest quality to the crowned heads of Europe, J.C. VICKERY would have commissioned the finest of English wartercolourists to carry out any such work. |
