A fine and rare pair of antique Gem set Russian Lorgnettes in 14ct. Gold.C.1880.
The beautiful body of the Lorgnettes in 14ct. yellow gold, with the charming single cut Diamonds set within fine Milgrain White Gold settings. The beautiful round Cabochon cut glowing Sapphire,finely bezel set.
An engraved suspension ring to the final, struck with the late nineteenth century Russian Kokoshnik mark for 14ct. Gold.
The lens opening activated by a spring catch to the side.
Supplied in fitted, velvet lined, gold tooled leather (later) case.
The condition of these wonderful antique Lorgnettes is quite superb.
The quality commensurate with the demanding standards of the aristocratic clientele purchasing such beautiful items in pre revolution Russia.
