An Officers Campaign Dining Compendium of the highest quality and workmanship, contained within the original fitted leather case. C.1840.

The Compendium consisting of a fine quality Silver Beaker with original leather insert holding an ebony handled steel bladed folding Knife, together with a beautiful folding Silver Fork & Spoon.

The folding Silver Fork & Spoon have sprung steel inlaid to the shaft backs to maintain integrity during dining.

Beaker,Spoon & Fork struck with French control marks. The leather lid with the officers name (Indistinct ).

French control marks struck to the Beaker Fork & Spoon, for the period C.1840.

This fine and rare Antique piece is in original and unrestored condition.

The condition overall is good, with some distressing to the leather case,and with small accessories missing and some rust to the steel bladed folding Knife.

Such Campaign Dining Compendiums were used by Officers in the field. In most cases the Officers would have been drawn from the aristocracy and landed gentry, as a result, their personal possessions in many cases were of the highest quality, being purchased from leading purveyors of the finest artifacts and merchandise, this particular item being a prime example.

The makers mark struck to the base of the beaker.
