A fine quality, beautifully engraved Visiting Card Case in Sterling Silver by "William Hair Haseler" Hallmarks for Birmingham C.1920. The case of curved form, the hinged lid with diagonal opening to aid removal of the cards. The case profusely and superbly engraved with leaves and scrolls to the front and back, a monogram to the central cartouche. (MB). Measuring 83mm x 40mm x 8mm, an ideal size for modern business cards. Contained within this lovely item was an old 10/- note dating from the 1950s. A delightful surprise and charming find,.. this 10/- note is included with this beautiful Card Case.

The Hallmarks are for Birmingham 1920, with the makers mark WHH for the Silver Smith "William Hair Haseler". The date letter and Lion Passant repeated on the lid.
