The beautifully fine enamelling to the bezel and leaf corners is without doubt as good as any in the world. The minute track and numerals on this wonderful timepiece are not printed but engraved and enamelled. This method of dial manufacture was a very slow and costly process requiring great skill and experience. First the dial was very finely engraved, then the engraving carefully flooded with enamel and fired in a kiln. After burnishing back the flooded, engraved recesses the dial surface finish would be applied. These incredible "engraved and enamelled" dials are only found on the very highest grade watches of the turn of the century and 1920s. As we move into the 1930s these beautiful dials gradually disappear.
