A beautiful Victorian Diamond set, 18ct. Gold and Enamel, "Four-Leaf Clover" Brooch, with multi application fittings to the reverse. C.1880.Contained within a superb later custom made, velvet, satin and leather, fitted case.

This charming antique piece is of the very highest quality throughout, with the greatest attention to detail given to its construction and finish..

Naturalistically formed leaves exquisitely and finely enamelled showing the fine veining and shading of the "Oxalis tetraphylla", the traditional lucky "Four-Leaf Clover", measuring 29mm x 25mm.

The reverse side of the brooch is equipped with a fold away, swing out hinged ring, to facilitate hanging as a pendant on a chain. There is also an additional fitting to allow suspension from a bow bar.

The central, Old Brilliant Cut Diamond (10pts) is of a exceptionally high grade and quality, with a wonderful, clarity, colour, fire and scintillation.

The Diamond is set within a beautiful six pronged claw setting again of exceptionally high and fine quality. On close inspection this setting is quite magnificent compared to later similar claw settings, with each of the six prongs beautifully shaped and finished off to an extremely fine point.
