A rare and most amusing late Deco Diamond & Ruby set articulated Brooch,C.1945, in the form of a stereotypical 1940s period burglar, dressed with cloth cap, neck scarf and hobnail boots, his jacket pockets bulging at the seams with house breaking tools.

Late Deco period Brooches of stylised subjects such as dancers, street vendors and clowns are now quite rare, however, this particular example with its unusual subject of a burglar is very rare indeed, especially so, being articulated and concealing a timepiece.
