concealing a fine Swiss timepiece.C.1945.

A rare and most amusing late Deco Diamond & Ruby set articulated Brooch,C.1945, in the form of a stereotypical 1940s period burglar, dressed with cloth cap, neck scarf and hobnail boots, his jacket pockets bulging at the seams with house breaking tools.

The reprobate, making off at full speed with a safe on his back, which amazingly conceals a classic vintage timepiece.

The timepiece is revealed by moving the articulated burglar’s arm, allowing the hinged and sprung face to swing out to be viewed.

Beautifully and cleverly constructed in Rose and White 18ct. Gold, set with Fine Diamonds & Rubies, this wonderful Brooch is quite unique, concealing a fine timepiece.

Late Deco period Brooches of stylised subjects such as dancers, street vendors and clowns are now quite rare, however, this particular example with its unusual subject of a burglar is very rare indeed, especially so, being articulated and concealing a timepiece.
