A most beautiful and interesting Continental Oval Silver Snuff Box with automaton C.1730, in superb condition.
The lid engraved and chased with classic hunting dogs and game within a leaf and scroll surround with original gilt interior.
The lid interior with a glazed painted Ivory and enamelled automaton of a masked courtesan at a window.
The lady charming the viewer by covering and revealing her face with a mask. The automaton operated by a concealed tab in the case rim.
The box measuring ; 82mm x 63mm x 22mm.

The concealed tab in the case rim can be seen protruding from the lid rim on the right.
